Northstar Clean Technologies Inc. has provided an update on the site development work at its planned Empower Calgary Facility in Alberta and released an updated investor presentation. The Empower Calgary Facility is a reprocessing facility that will focus on the sustainable recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles. The site development work began in early April, and the land is being prepared for construction, with several initiatives underway, including paving the parking lot, landscaping the front of the site, installing lighting, fences, and foundations for the weigh scale.
The Landlord is responsible for the site development work, and the expenditures are included in the long-term lease agreement for the Empower Calgary Facility. The Landlord has removed debris and topsoil that was previously on the site and begun grading and compacting the base. Site development work will continue with bringing in recycled granular material and placing it in the yard at the site. The pre-construction development permit requirements have been met and approved, allowing the commencement of the site development work.
Northstar’s President & CEO and Director, Mr. Aidan Mills, expressed his pleasure with the progress being made by the Landlord at the site of the planned Empower Calgary Facility. He said that they look forward to bringing their proprietary clean technology to the Greater Calgary Area and providing a solution to help divert asphalt shingles from its landfills.
In addition to the site development update, Northstar has also released an updated investor presentation that includes a summary of the Company’s recent updates. The presentation is available for viewing and download on the Company’s website or at the following link: https://docsend.com/view/e8c53v3mdyupcxg5.
Northstar is a Canadian-based clean technology company focused on the sustainable recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles. The Company has developed a proprietary design process for taking discarded asphalt shingles and extracting the liquid asphalt for use in new hot mix asphalt, shingle manufacturing, asphalt flat roof systems, and aggregate and fiber for use in construction products and other industrial applications. Northstar’s mission is to be the leader in the recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles in North America, extracting the recovered components from asphalt shingles that would otherwise be sent to landfill. The Company plans to reprocess used or defective asphalt shingle waste back into its three primary components for reuse/resale at both its Empower Pilot Facility in Delta, British Columbia and its first commercial scale-up facility in Calgary, Alberta, in line with the circular economy concept.
